The ‘Randstad’ light rail E-line comes from ‘Slinge station’ in Rotterdam and ended up, until recently years, on tracks 11 and 12 of The Hague Central Station . To have more space at the track, the E-Line has a new end stop named HSE ( The Hague start station Erasmus line) The HSE is the new metro stop which connects Rotterdam and The Hague.
For this project Alom supplied the rail fastening system 49E1. This indirect rail fastening system is designed for light rail applications e.g. tram and metro. This indirect rail fastening system consist of: 2 or 4 anchor bolts (A-396531),2 or 4 plastic center (A-396691) 2 or 4 center collar bushes (A-396691), 2 or 4 washer( (A-411981), 2 or 4 springs (A-310811), 2 or 4 nuts (A-8971650), 1 cork rubber baseplate pad (A-390721), height adjustment shims, cast iron baseplate (A-165651), cork rubber rail pad (A-390701) and 2 rail fastening clips SKL19 (A-307411), 2 clipbolts with nut (A-290731) 2 washer ULS 6 (A-411961). The anchor bolts will be bonded in to the concrete by a special developed adhesive; Alom fix AL600EP (A-394251).

Alom supplies the thermal welding systems of producer & Partner Pandrol on the Dutch market. ProRail 'experimental garden' with FFU sleepers.
ProRail set up a testing ground in the track between Zwolle and Heino with four different types of alternative, sustainable sleepers. This is a two-year trial in which the applicability of the sleepers is tested and the degree of noise and vibration reduction is also examined.

Synthetic Railway Sleepers: Light, durable en strong
Alom offers , along with Sekisui, a Synthetic Railway Sleepers. These synthetic sleepers are produced by compressing single strands of glass fibre with polyurethane foam using a high pressure extraction press. The expected lifetime is more than 50 years.
